  1. Combine both rice. Rinse and drained.

  2. Put drained rice into Ultra Pro 3.5L. Add Lemongrass, ginger, shallots, pandan leaf, water, coconut milk and salt. Stir well .

  3. Microwave rice on high heat for 5mins

  4. Switch to low heat and cook for another 15mins (for stack cooking, medium heat should be used).

  5. Fluff the cooked rice, let it rest 10mins .

  6. Coconut rice is best served along with accompaniment and chicken rendang. (See Chicken Rendang Recipe)

  7. Note : Take note that different amount of rice requires different cooking time. If stack cooking method is used, do add cooking time for another 5mins or more.


  • 300 g Jasmine Rice (2cup)
  • 150 g Basmati Rice (1cup)
  • 400 ml Water
  • 270 ml Coconut Milk (1can)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Lemongrass, bruised
